Cubiconnin’: A few scribbles from both the inventor and the self-proclaimed voice of Cubicons.
First from Bryce Marley, the inventor and also downsized Safety Engineer.
“Hello, my name is Bryce Marley. I invented Cubicons initially to keep people safe while doing what they seem to think are ordinary, harm-free tasks. But one small mishap with the air vents or a slight mistaple in the copy room, and it’s sure to end up in a chaotic bloodbath. Or not. But just to prevent the possiblity, I came up with Cubicons.”
“And now that I have them actually produced and out in the market, over the eyes and on the faces of cubicle folk across all continents, it’s becoming very clear to me that these things are about more than safety. They seem to be removing the fear from the minds of cubiclites. They’re giving ho-humm-just-another-day-at-the-office kinda people a bit of a spark. Sending them into a whole new world of “Hey, that’s right! I actually do have a life. I am somebody. I’m not just this nameless unknown person sitting here under flourescentville, wasting my life away!! No!! I’m Bob, or Kathy, or Darin (insert your name here), and I’m SOMEBODY!! Somebody with a dream. A purpose.”
“So thank you Cubicons! Thank you for helping me see clearly again! For kicking fear and hopelessness aside. And giving me my life back.”
And now a scribble or two from Subha, ¼ Lebanese rapper who “kinda digs dem Cubicons”.
“Yo. This be Subha. I’m all chillin’ wid deez Cubicons and be thinkin’ stuff like “Dang girlfriend, you be all dat with your powerpoint. You be throwing dem numberz out for 4 Q like you da superstarz of planet meeting. So take those Cubions. Tell ‘em you love ‘em. Talk to ‘em. Show them and all your peeps that you be rolling with bidness jargon, kickin’ it like you gots nothing to lose”. But dats just a sample of some stuff I be thinkin’ when I gots my Cubicons on.”
“I takes it slow sometimes though. Cause these things ain’t to be messed with. They gots power. And they pullz power outta even da uncoolest of dudes in da office. You gets these Cubicons close to your face and it be like “Shaboingza!! Kabluuueee! Wonder twinz powerz active – form of a deal makin’ superhero….shape of a fine-tailored bidness suit. And da rest is all “Yo yo yo. Where’d you get that soul sista? Where you been hidin’ those bidness skillz @ girl??”
Both Bryce and Subha have expressed appreciation for the newfound word in the English language – Cubiconnin’ . The definition is up to each and every individual who dons Cubicons. But in general it means finding your cohenes or cohonas again.
Historians describe the United States of America as a melting pot where people from countries all over the world have come together to become part of this country. Americans can trace their ancestry to immigrants from Europe, Asia, Africa, representing just about every nation. Many of us who have lived in the U. S. for several generations just think of ourselves as Americans and do not identify with the cultures that we came from. But a lot of people do still try to keep elements of their heritage so children remember where their ancestors came from. They serve ethnic foods, keep items that belonged to ancestors, and observe holidays the way their ancestors’ country did.
Many people just don’t know many details about where their families came from. They know that Great-Grandpa sailed to the U. S. from Ireland but don’t know why he came or what the names of his parents were. So people turn to genealogical resources to find out about their family’s history. They might travel to museums or historical research centers or browse to websites that let you research your family.
Organize family genealogy data with USB flash drives
Genealogical researchers will compile information about people’s families so they can learn about ancestors. Often this info ends up being pages and pages of jumbled lists of names and occupations. Why not purchase bulk custom USB drives to compile information and then sell to people who want to research their families?
As a genealogist, you can do the hard work of looking through death records, examining lists of boat passengers, and browsing through lists of residents of a town in the 1890s. You can pick out the information about your client’s ancestors and even find out that his great-great-grandfather tried to hide the fact that he stole a horse. You can then type this information into Word documents and also save them as PDFs to load onto the flash drives. That way you can give someone a full collection of research about their family on a handy flash drive that they can plug into their computers.
They can do what they want with the information. They can easily search through documents to find specific names. They can print out parts that they want or a whole book of family documentation. They can order extra flash drives to share with their family members.
The genealogist can order flash drives that have the name of the genealogy group imprinted or engraved. He can then stockpile these to load people’s information onto and then sell them to those who come for research. But CFgear offers more options that he can take advantage. If a lot of family members want flash drives with all the genealogy information already on them, CFgear can prepare bulk USB drives and preload data. They can load files like Word docs and PDFs as well as design a custom layout.
Check out CFgear.com’s selection of flash drives and find one to suit a genealogy research group. Browse over to their website or give them a call today at 800.371.1984 to find out more.
