2012 Chevy Volt: Changing the Way You Live Your Life

Last updated on December 3, 2012 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

The Volt is revolutionizing the electric car industry. It is so unique because it is the first ever electric powered car to run on both electricity and gas.

Super Gas Savings

The electric source permits you drive gas-free for 35 miles. The Volt has an on-board gas generator that yields electricity, so you can reach a total of 375 miles on just one tank of gas.

The average driver drives 15,000 miles per year, and the average car gets 22 miles to the gallon. So, if gas costs $3.95 per gallon that means you’re spending $2,520 per year on just gas alone.

However, with the Volt you’re running on both electric and gas. The combined fuel cost and electricity is only $1,000 dollars per year. With the way gas prices have been skyrocketing, who wouldn’t want to invest in the 2012 Chevy Volt?

Exceptionally High-Tech Savvy

The Chevy Volt is extremely high-tech savvy. It will make any car buyer swoon! The Volt has a 30 GB hard drive, which is a perfect way to customize your car playlist. You can either plug your iPod or flash drive into the handy USB port.

Your songs will show up on the center console display. You can access your songs the same way you would for the radio and Satellite Radio. It’s a brilliantly designed indulgence for car owners.

The display screen also acts as a rear camera. As you’re reversing your car, the back-up lines are moving with your wheels. The camera also sounds a warning signal to alert you of any obstacles, object, or pedestrians in your way. It makes backing up a breeze!

The Volt has a remote start feature. You can stay in the comfort of your home to turn your car on or off, as well as cooling it or heating it.

Another fabulous added bonus is being able to set what time your car charges, right from your phone! It saves time and money.

Drive It Your Way

The Chevy Volt offers three appealing modes of driving.

The first way is the normal mode, which is the conventional, everyday driving experience – only more efficient.

The second is sport mode, which allows you to reach speeds of 100 miles per hour. As soon as you step on the gas, you go! It’s more aggressive and has heightened responses. It gives you that sporty edge that everyone craves from a car.

Then, you have the mountain mode, which preserves a power reserve for mounting extensive, steep grades. It’s perfect for rough terrain and steep mountains. All three modes are necessities when cruising around in the Volt!

Stylish and Chic

Most electric cars are not the sexiest, sleekest cars on the market, but the Volt changed the name of the game. From the inside out, the Volt is pure luxury, from the interior with leather appointed seats, to the two beautifully designed center console screens, and even heated seats. It makes it all the more fun to drive around!

Safety

Chevrolet has thought of every way possible to keep you safe from the moment you step foot in your car until you arrive at your destination. They have provided a rear-vision camera system, which alerts you of any stationary objects in your way. Chevy also has StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System and Traction control to keep you safely on the road.

If an accident were to occur, the Volt has eight standard air bags and a high strength steel frame to protect you.

OnStar will also be by your side in the unfortunate event of an accident. Even if you’re unable to respond, an OnStar associate will determine your location and call for help right away.

The 2012 Chevrolet Volt is the hottest electric car on the market. Volt owners love it for all of the reasons listed above, but most of all they love it because it’s just downright fun to drive! Test drive a 2012 or 2013 Chevy Volt today at Thornton Chevrolet, located at 180 South Main Street in Manchester, PA – just north of York.
