Every child learns and develops differently from the next. New Creations Chapel acknowledges this truth with four unique programs to educate children across the nation. Their Christian Boarding School offers Christ centered learning and growth for troubled teenagers. The Christian Day School operates, for the local children, as a refuge from the corrupt public school system. New Creations also offers a daycare system for children not yet in school. Lastly, an all-ages camp with horseback riding, a lake and several miles of exploring offers a wholesome atmosphere to learn about The Creator surrounded by His creation. All four programs stem from the New Creations Church and its founder Tim and Bonnie Cummings.
600 miles of the eastern Indiana/Ohio, state border houses the New Creations Campus. Despite the impressive grounds, New Creations had a truly humble genesis. Tim and Bonnie Cummings founded New Creations during the late 1960’ right in their home. They took in hurting and troubled teenagers for brief periods. They participated in a traveling choir and received loving-Christian instruction. Forty years have come and gone with the same strain of Christ-centered love thriving at New Creations Chapel.
The growth from in-home ministry into multiple programs did not erase the core principles instilled by the Cummings. Christ-centered education and living mature examples are the high calling for the faculty and staff. This principle’s manifestation occurs through the rigid 24-hour schedule. Students living in the dorms receive the attention of a fulltime biblically and pastorally trained staff. Their authority through Christian discipline is the daily example through which the children learn.
Families of troubled teenagers are hurting and broken in many ways. These rifts are repaired through the maturation of the teenager into a healthy responsible adult. New Creations sees the family as vitally important to the success of a child. Without a healthy family base, that student will not succeed outside of the program. Parents who make the difficult decisions to send their child to New Creations Boarding School know they will find Christ there. This trusted institution uses a rigidly protected environment to mold students into Christ-centered adults. Rebuilding the familial foundation begins on arrival and continues through homecoming and beyond. This constant attention to family facilitates a healthy transition for all.
The other important factor to Christian maturity is academic success through discipline. New Creations tailors each student’s class schedule to their own learning pace. Therefore, the student stays motivated by meeting customized goals. Through monitored attendance, encouragement and constant evaluation, the teachers and staff reward student improvement. Their state-of-the art computer based system offers a myriad of classes for every grade level.
New Creations believes that every child’s process must begin with discussion and questions from the parents. Parents are encouraged to browse the website (NewCreationsBoardingSchool.org) or contact the school for more information. Payment plans and school loan resources are available. New Creations runs on 30% tuition and 70% donation, any gift is greatly appreciated.
Note: New Creations Boarding School closed on July 2016 after 47 years of successful ministry serving troubled youth.
