When it comes to study lofts, there are plenty of variations on the theme. While all include a bed lifted above a space where there’s a desk, exactly how it all comes together can vary about as much as a Lego block model design. We’ll look at a few of our customers’ favorites to give you a sampling of the kinds of designs under the umbrella category “Study Loft.”
Seaview Study Loft
Craftsman styling and unusual finish options make the Seaview Study Loft a surprisingly stunning option. Available in either Driftwood or Espresso finish, this versatile combination bed includes a drawer chest as well as a desk and bed. Shelves positioned above the chest offer even more storage space, and the twosome can be positioned on either end of the loft; the ladder can also be positioned on either the right or the left side of the front rail. The bed can be either Twin or Full size; the Twin offers room for a 4-drawer chest, while the Full makes space for an additional 2 drawers.
Unlike the full Seaview Desk, the desk top that coordinates with the Seaview Study Loft has no drawers or hutch. Instead, it’s positioned under the top bed and runs the length of the bed, offering enough space for two chairs, making it ideal for cooperative learning experiences. The desk top could be removed at a later date in order to accommodate a full-sized bed beneath the top bunk.
Captain’s Bed with Pull-Out Desk
The compact design of this Captain’s Bed with Pull-Out Desk is on display at The Bedroom Source’s Long Island Showroom. Complete with Storage Stairs, this small, no-nonsense piece allows you to utilize each square inch to its fullest. With either a Twin or Full size bed, the piece is only 45 inches high. The Twin is 42 inches deep, and the Full is 58 inches deep; the desk adds an additional 24 inches to the depth of either, when it is pulled out. To accommodate easy movement, the desk is on wheels; it features open shelving and pencil drawers. This unit also includes a 3-Drawer Dresser with Door Cabinet.
Your choice of 6 finish options as well as many accent colors and hardware options adds some variety to this design, allowing you to customize it according to your child’s tastes.
Ultra-High Double Twin Loft with Stairs
The Ultra-High Double Twin Loft with Stairs again offers space for sleeping two as well as studying. With its bifecta design, the unit includes an optional 4-drawer Dresser under the bottom bed, 1-drawer Desk next to the bottom bed, and 5 Storage Stairs, providing plenty of space to help your kids put things away.
As a bonus feature, this unit can be set up to accommodate up to 3 Twin beds, instead of two. An open-shelf bookcase can also be included.
