Best Kids Study Loft Beds, Part 3

Last updated on June 28, 2016 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

With the unique Study Loft options we’ve already seen in Part 1 and Part 2, you may be wondering how many more ways furniture companies can re-create this simple design. Well, wait no longer! We think you’ll like these last three designs.

4-Step Twin/Twin Study Loft

4 step twin over twin study loft bedThis 4-Step Twin/Twin Study Loft keeps you from having to choose between using the space under the top bunk for a second bed or a desk — you get both! (As an alternative, you could choose to leave the space open to accommodate a small sofa or bean bag chair.)

The 4 Storage Drawers Steps can be installed on either side; the depth is 42 inches on the side without stairs and 51 inches on the side with stairs. The height of this unit is 66 inches. The 1-Drawer Writing Desk (pictured on the right) is across from the head of the bottom bed, with a window next to it to allow natural light to flood your child’s workspace; or, you could have a small dresser in the place of the desk (pictured above). The variety of finishes, accent colors, and hardware options allow for your child’s creativity to shine through.

Cooley Space Saver Loft

Space Saver Loft style without a second bed (Discontinued)

Built to accommodate two beds, plus a desk, the Cooley Space-Saver Loft (discontinued) does exactly what its name says it will do. Unlike traditional bunk beds, this loft-style bed has the bottom bed perpendicular to the top bed.

The Desk unit is typically positioned beneath the head of the top bed, on the same side as the ladder, and the ladder can be set up on either side. The 4-Drawer Chest can be switched out with the Desk, if you’d prefer. The Desk position allows for a built-in cubical-type feel. Although not as high as a hutch might be, it still offers the privacy and focused area which some kids require.

The entire unit measures 71 inches high, and the upper Twin bed measures 44 inches deep. The lower bed requires 80 inches from the wall to the foot of the bed, which gives plenty of space to accommodate the ladder’s 19-inch depth. Be sure to ask about optional side stairs, if you’d prefer them; that option comes with added shelving, adding to the space savings you’d already get with this design. Finishes available include Cherry, Espresso, and White. The same style is also available without a second bed (pictured on the right).

Convertible Loft

This Convertible Loft can be a Bunk Bed by night and a Study Loft by day. Ideal for your older child or teenager’s room or for a home office or studio apartment, this unit includes a hanging bookshelf, a built-in staircase with five drawers, and three cubbies for added storage. Levelers, automatic locking mechanisms, and a surge protector all contribute to converting your work space into sleep space, and back again, in only seconds. The desk is spacious enough to accommodate two individuals. Finishes include Chestnut, Nutmeg, and White.
