In 1955, a United States Army veteran living in Ohio had a vision for providing exceptional concrete service to those in the Greater Dayton/Miamisburg, Ohio area. That’s when this skilled craftsman, Ray Combs, decided to found Combs Concrete Company (visit the website). Ever since the inception of his business, Ray believed in paying close attention to detail on each and every job he undertook. That same commitment characterizes that work of Combs Concrete Company to this day.

Due to economic challenges posed by the recession of the 1970s as well as Ray’s desire to live and work in a milder climate, he and his family relocated and started the business over in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since then, Combs Concrete has really taken off and grown into a major concrete construction company servicing commercial, industrial, and residential customers throughout the North and South Carolina regions. With a whole host of impressive completed projects and satisfied customers included in our portfolio, the team at Combs Concrete has a proven track record of success. We believe in putting forth our best effort on every project large or small. Some of the different types of projects we’ve tackled are listed and described in detail below.

Residential Projects

As already mentioned above, our company has greatly expanded since its initial founding back in 1955. Naturally, we’ve broadened our horizons and started taking on more large-scale projects. However, we haven’t forgotten our roots. We still find great satisfaction in completing residential construction projects for our valued area customers, such as driveway repairs and replacements, pouring residential basements, monolithic slabs, patios, new driveways, and turnkey footings. In fact, one of our claims to fame is being the first concrete construction company to provide residential customers in and around Charlotte, North Carolina with poured concrete basement wall service. The majority of our current residential concrete services are for housing developments, where our crews and equipment can work on multiple residential concrete projects over a multi day period.

Industrial Projects

We pride ourselves on our expertise in the area of industrial concrete construction. From industrial work to infrastructure development work, we do it all. We take on huge jobs, like providing all the concrete services needed by power plants and warehouses. This would include such skilled labor as constructing box culverts, heavy foundations, lined retention bases, pipe encasements, as well as concrete flumes and ditches. We’re known for safety and high-quality workmanship throughout the entire region.

Commercial Projects

We understand how important reliable concrete is to local commercial businesses. That’s why when we’re hired for a commercial project, we take our concrete construction role seriously. Whether it’s for a school, apartment complex, municipal or government facility, health club, parking lot or deck, or restaurant, we’re dedicated to getting the job done right.

We do everything from slab on metal deck, to slab on grade, to concrete paving and cast in place or tilt-up walls. The Department of Transportation has recognized us with certification. We’re also certified as a pervious concrete contractor. Not every concrete construction company has these types of credentials, because many of them aren’t skilled and equipped to take on the kinds of large-scale projects that we’re known to successfully complete.
