Consider Consigning with Us, “S’il Vous Plaît”? (Please)

Last updated on October 23, 2017 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

We may have been voted one of Westchester County, New York’s “Best Consignment Shop” by Westchester Magazine, but we honestly couldn’t do what we do without the pas de deux (partnership) of valued consigners, just like you! If you have any high-quality, high-fashion pieces in your wardrobe that haven’t come out in far too long, we’d be delighted to transfer them to our sales floor and allow them to once again experience joie de vivre (joy of life). After all, don’t they deserve to be seen?!

To help save all of us valuable time and energy, we have outlined the types of items we are able to accept, considering our clients’ preferences as well as our seasonal needs.

Our Haute Couture (High-Fashion) Selection

In case you’re unfamiliar with the idea of consignment, the basic concept is that we pay those who contribute pieces only once those items sell. Consignment sales make up the vast majority of our business, but there are a few exceptions. We are willing to pay outright for classic handbags and accessories made by Chanel and Hermes.

We accept the following types of items on a consignment basis: women’s clothing and shoes, handbags and purses,  jewelry and fashion accessories. Clothing, shoes and handbags must be made by a select group of designers. (However, please note that we do not accept wedding gowns or bridesmaid dresses, regardless of their label.)

We also carry an assortment of luxury gift items and household furnishings. One other category outside women’s fashion is men’s small accessories. While we do not accept men’s clothing items, we do accept items such as men’s neck ties, watches, and travel bags. (We accept no children’s clothing.)

Our Modus Operandi (Consignment Process)

Only authentic designer merchandise will be accepted, and each piece should be undamaged and stain-free. We kindly request that any items you bring in be suitable for display: cleaned, pressed, and hanging on hangers. To schedule your personal tête-à-tête at which we’ll discuss your items, please contact us.  (Please note that we do not schedule consignment appointments on Sundays or Thursdays.)

If you have home furnishings you wish us to consider consigning, one alternative we offer is to send us an e-mail with photographs attached, along with descriptions of each item. (Our e-mail address is [email protected]) We also offer the potential of an in-home “white glove” service.

Our Couture Du Jour (Seasonal Fashion Selections)

In addition to the general standards described above, seasonal stipulations also apply. For a thorough explanation of what we accept each season, please refer to the consignment page on our website. While we always accept fashion accessories, clothing pieces and footwear will be accepted only during appropriate months.

January: Cruise Wear
February, March, April: Spring Items
May, June: Summer Items
August, September, October: Autumn Items
November, December: Winter and Holiday Items

If you have luxury items or designer pieces you no longer utilize, we would love the opportunity to see them find new purpose in fulfilling our customers’ wish lists. Won’t you partner with us?
