Consign with Us This Summer!

Chanel Crossbody black leather bag

Summer is a great time to purge and spruce up your designer wardrobe! If you live in or near Westchester County, New York, you may not realize that the Penny Pincher Boutique offers a wide selection of designer women’s clothing and takes gently used designer clothing on consignment, allowing you to add to your clothing budget while getting rid of items you just don’t love as well as you once did.

What can you expect if you’re considering consigning with the Penny Pincher? We’ll outline our process for you below.

Item Categories

Lady Dior white patent bag & Christian Louboutin white patent peep toe pumps

In case you’re unfamiliar with the consignment model, here’s the gist of it: for any items of yours that we accept, we agree to pay you a percentage of the amount we receive upon their sale. Nearly all the items we sell are accepted from individuals like you, following this consignment model. (Notable exceptions include Hermes and Chanel classic hand bags for which we may pay up front.)

The majority of our sales floor is populated by new or like-new women’s high-fashion clothing items and shoes from a limited number of luxury designers. We also accept the following types of items: women’s purses, jewelry, and fashion accessories, as well as a limited number of small home items and luxury gift items along with men’s ties, watches, and travel bags.

Seasonal Specifics

Louis Vuitton Electric EPI Mirabeau GM

We further limit items we accept according to seasonal demand. As a result, from August through October we accept fall clothing; in November and December we prefer winter clothing items and holiday party apparel; in January we accept cruise wear; from February through April we gladly receive spring clothing; in May and June we accept only summer items.

Regardless of time of year, we accept fashion accessories ranging from handbags and scarves to sunglasses and vintage, costume, and fine jewelry to suit a variety of tastes. For further details about our seasonal requirements, you may want to take a look at this page.

In addition to the above-mentioned categories, we also limit our inventory to authentic items that are in premium condition. All items accepted on consignment must be free from damage or significant signs of wear, including holes or stains. When you present your pieces, please make sure they are ready for sale — freshly cleaned, pressed, and hanging on hangers.

Please make an appointment at a time that’s convenient for you so that we can give you and your items our undivided attention when you arrive; we have time slots available at any time of day during our business hours, any day except Sunday and Thursday. For larger furniture, we suggest that you send us photos first via e-mail: [email protected]

We look forward to meeting you and having you join our growing family of consignors and loyal Penny Pincher customers!
