How K-12 Schools Can Use Flash Drives

Last updated on June 27, 2012 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

K-12 schools are constantly looking for creative and modern ways to teach students with technology. Flash drives have a ton of great uses for schools and can be used for any grade from kindergarten through students’ senior year! Check out some of our ideas for K-12 schools:

1. Digital Backpack

Instead of spending thousands of dollars each year on printing paper, you can use a flash drive! Almost any assignment, form essays to worksheets, can be put on flash drives to be completed at home. Keeping flash drives organized by class will allow students to back up their work and easily and quickly find information. This will save time for teachers and students and money for the administration. PowerPoints and papers can be easily collected and graded using flash drives.

2. Fundraising

Fundraising with flash drives is a proven success. Whether it’s the school itself or a club that needs to raise funds, these daily-use items are a fast selling fundraising tool. Your flash drives can have the name of the school or organization printed on them, or they can be shaped into any 3D shape you want. Forget chocolate, wrapping paper, and magazines; flash drives are a perfect 21st century fundraiser!

3. Teach Responsibility

Yes, we know it can be costly to buy flash drives for an entire school. But this can be a great way for your students to learn responsibility. When you hand out flash drives to your students, be sure they know that if they lose their flash drive, they not only lose any homework on their drive, but they will also be responsible for paying to replace it.

4. Lanyards and Hanging Organizers for Kids

You might think that your students are too young for this technology and will definitely lose their devices. We think that it is never to early for children to learn to use important technology. Try putting the drives on lanyards with the students name on them, and hanging them up when the computer lesson is done.

5. Learning Programs

Push your homework into the 21st century by loading entire programs onto flash drives. Your students can take home learning games or programs that boot right from the flash drive. What an exciting way to make learning fun! And you don’t have to do all the work yourself. Games, programs, documents, and any other information can be preloaded onto your flash drives when  you purchase them from CFgear.

CFgear offers reliable, warranty-backed custom flash drives at affordable bulk prices. As an added bonus, CFgear is located right here in America (Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to be exact). For more information on CFgear and all they have to offer, visit cfgear.com today.
