How to Consign at Penny Pincher Boutique

Last updated on September 20, 2017 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Voted the “Best Consignment Shop” by Westchester Magazine more than once, the Penny Pincher Boutique is arguably the premier women’s luxury consignment destination in Westchester County, New York. While we accept only authentic, high-quality designer items, we happily work with any prospective consigners — after all, we couldn’t do what we do without you! We’ve done our best to outline precisely what we can and cannot accept, based on our clients’ discriminating tastes. As you explore our policies, we hope you’ll be able to team up with us to provide our customers with the like-new luxury items they desire.

Items We Purchase and Consign

By far, most of our business follows a consignment model in which we reserve payment until after the sale of items entrusted to us; however, there are a few types of items that we purchase outright. Those items include accessories and classic handbags from two designers: Chanel and Hermes.

Other items we accept on a consignment basis include gently used women’s clothing, shoes, and handbags. We also accept various fashion accessories and both costume and fine jewelry as well as smaller home furnishings and luxury gift items. (Examples include Tiffany crystal, framed prints, lamps, hand-made rugs, ottomans, and more.)

The only men’s items we accept are travel bags, ties, watches, and small accessories. Please also note that we do not accept men’s or children’s clothing, wedding gowns, or bridesmaid dresses.

Consignment Process

All items must be authentic pieces made by high-end designers (see this list of designers we carry). All clothing items should be without any stains or major signs of wear and should come to us cleaned, pressed, and hanging on hangers. We view items only by appointment; you can schedule an appointment for any day of the week except for Thursdays or Sundays.

For your convenience, you may inquire about our willingness to accept home furnishing items by e-mailing photographs and descriptions to the following email address:
.

A private, in-home “white glove” service is available to those living in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. To find out more about this unique service, please contact us through our website: www.pennypincherboutique.com.

Consignment Calendar

In addition to the specifications listed above, we are selective about which types of items we will accept at various points throughout the year; as a general rule, we’re able to consign only items we expect to sell during the upcoming season. Fashion accessories such as handbags, scarves, sunglasses, jewelry, and small leather items are accepted all year.

• January: cruise wear
• February, March, April: spring items
• May & June: summer items
• August, September, October: pieces appropriate for autumn
• November & December: winter & holiday garments

For a more detailed description of our monthly stipulations, please see this page. We hope you’ll consider consigning your luxury women’s clothing items with us at the Penny Pincher Boutique!
