K9 Kingdom Doggie Daycare in Wexford, PA

Last updated on September 8, 2010 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

K9 Kingdom offers a fun, social group play environment for dogs in our Doggie Daycare. Located in Wexford, PA and serving neighboring communities such as Cranberry, Bradford Woods, Allison Park, McCandless, and north Pittsburgh, K9 Kingdom is a full service pet care facility. We cater specifically to dog owners who love to spoil their pets and treat them like family members.

All Daycare dogs have the chance to run and play in the indoor dog park while their owners are busy working. Keeping dogs well-exercised plays an essential role in raising happy, healthy, well-balanced pets. All exercise releases pent-up energy which can often be used for destruction at home, but group play with other dogs is a truly exhausting exercise which magnifies the calming effect. Daycare also provides a unique opportunity for dogs to learn how to socialize and behave appropriately with other dogs.

While in Daycare, dogs are monitored and supervised constantly by certified pet care technicians. Trained in dog behavior, our K9 Care Specialists are proactive about selecting dogs in groups for appropriate play. Dogs are grouped together by age, size, and temperament. Puppies and small dogs always have a safe, secure area separate from the large dogs.

Premium dog kennel in PittsburghThroughout the day, dogs participate in games such as wrestling, keep away, catch-me-if-you-can, and more! They enjoy interacting with the K9 Care Specialists to play ball or tug of war, or simply stroll around the park together. In order to avoid over stimulation or sheer exhaustion, all dogs are escorted to the nap room every few hours for some much needed quiet time. They snuggle up individually in a cozy crate with soft fleece bedding for some rest.

First-time visitors to K9 Kingdom’s Dog Daycare are encouraged to schedule a visit late in the afternoon for only 1-2 hours when the other dogs are a bit quieter. It seems like many dogs visit from 9am – 4pm, and afterward there are fewer dogs, and they’re all a little calmer too! It’s amazing what 8 hours of play can do to relax a hyper dog. The short visit gives new dogs a chance to get exposed to the daycare environment, meet the friendly people, meet a lot of dogs, and then go home before it becomes overwhelming. The introduction process involves introducing the new dog to the others on a one-on-one basis. Once everyone has met, the gate opens and the new dog joins the group. This careful process avoids the otherwise inevitable Running of the Noses stampede where the new dog is bombarded with 15-20 dogs trying to sniff and inspect the newcomer.

In order to participate, new customers are encouraged to call K9 Kingdom at 724-935-3647, or stop in for a tour of their beautiful facility at 155 Lake Drive in Wexford, PA 15090. Visit the website at www.myK9kingdom.com to view the photo gallery or submit the pet profile to get started.
