Must-Have X10 Products to Help You Be Prepared for an Emergency – Part 2

Last updated on January 24, 2019 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Anyone who’s pretty familiar with the Boy Scouts youth organization knows that their motto is “Be prepared.” That’s good advice for people of all walks of life at any age. When it comes to being prepared, one of the most important things you can be prepared for is an emergency. Emergencies come in all different forms, and being prepared for them can include steps like getting an emergency food, water, and first aid kit ready, as well as practicing with your family how to respond if the house ever catches on fire.

Another smart step in preparing for an emergency is getting equipped with emergency readiness equipment from X10. In our first article in this series, we mentioned the X10 Big Red Wireless Emergency Button, which can set off a home alarm system as well as alert your home security monitoring service provider if your system is connected to such a monitoring service. In this article, we’ll take a look at another helpful X10 product to include in your home or workplace to help you prepare for the possibility of an emergency.

SC1200 X10 SecuriLINK Security Console

Chances are good that many home or business owners who are concerned with home security may already have some form of X10 home security system. If you fall into that category, the SecuriLINK Security Console could be a great addition to your existing system. You can combine it with your already existing X10 security and home automation modules. It includes plenty of great features that could prove to be vital in an emergency situation.

X10 SC1200 SecuriLINK Security Console

Bright Lights and Loud Alarm

As soon as it’s triggered, the SecuriLINK Console snaps into action. It makes your home’s existing lights flash off and on rapidly and sends a 95-decibel siren blaring throughout your home. This sound is as powerful as a stereo system that’s turned up to the highest volume!

Automatic Phone Contact

Not only will the SecuriLINK Console set off your alarm and lights, but it will also attempt to contact your landline phone, as well as five other numbers you can program into the system, such as friends, neighbors, or family members. Whoever picks up the phone will hear a message you’ve pre-recorded in your own voice warning that your house may be getting burglarized. You can turn off the alarm quickly and easily if it was set off by mistake.

Door and Window Sensing Capability Plus Remote Lighting Control

Another cool feature of the SecuriLINK Console is a door and window sensor. This wireless system is a breeze to set up and will alert your system to an intruder coming into your home at any of these common points of entry. Use any touch-tone telephone to disarm or arm the alarm system using your system’s four-digit code. You can also use this code to turn various lights on and off to give your home that lived-in look when you’re out of town.

Emergencies often happen when we least expect them. Rather than take a chance and hope you never have to face a home invasion or other home emergency, you can do your best to be prepared by stocking up on X10’s home security products like the ones described in these articles.
