Promoting Your Church With Flash Drives

Last updated on October 20, 2011 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

USB flash drives are a great resource for individuals in a wide range of occupations, and pastors are no exception. Flash drives are very small in size and therefore boast the convenience of portability, and most are extremely durable, with many lasting for years, even in the face of substantial neglect or misuse. Flash drives have the potential to greatly increase your efficiency at doing the job on which you place such extreme importance- spreading the Word of God. But how exactly can flash drives benefit you as a pastor?

1. Sermons

As technology continuously expands, people’s reliance upon it becomes more and more entrenched. Therefore, across the nation and the world, a large number of churches are undergoing modernization processes in an attempt to better relate to their increasingly technology-dependent congregations. Youth members of churches in particular find it ever more difficult to concentrate on information delivered verbally alone. They have become so accustomed to classrooms equipped with projectors and digital media that verbal lectures unaccompanied by visual aids are, for many, very difficult to follow. Even adult members of your congregation would benefit from a sermon delivered via PowerPoint or some other digital medium, and USB flash drives are a perfect and portable way for you to store these presentations in an organized fashion.

2. Organization

Unfortunately, many churches across the nation are finding themselves facing the very real possibility of obsolescence. There are many elements impacting this tragedy, of course, but one factor that could be contributing to churches’ decline is disorganization. Fortunately, USB flash drives are an effective and inexpensive way to help your church become more organized. They can be used to store congregation members’ contact information, past sermon presentations, financial information, or any other data that impacts the future of your cherished church. Consider using a different drive for each element of of your church’s structure: one for finances, one for activities, one for volunteer information, etc., as this will ensure complete organization and clarity. USB flash drives enable you to remain digitally organized without purchasing expensive computer memory upgrades.

3. Fundraisers

In addition to using USB flash drives within your church, they can also be sold as fundraising items. They are especially effective in raising funds because they are a customizable item that customers actually want to buy. Members of the community will certainly feel happier purchasing a useful and versatile flash drive than paying for unhealthy baked goods or a car wash that they don’t truly need. What’s more, flash drives can be customized, meaning that even after you’ve sold them as fundraisers and put the money to good use, the drives are still working to market your church by promoting its presence in the community. Flash drives can be customized in terms of shape, model, and color, and you can engrave or imprint any message or image of your choosing. Consider engraving your church’s name and favorite Bible verse, or you could imprint your contact information and motto.

Whether you choose to use them as a fundraising and marketing item, to deliver up-to-date visual sermons, or to help your church become better organized, USB flash drives are incredibly useful. As a pastor, you care about promoting the future of your church and congregation. Flash drives can help you accomplish your mission.
