So many times I have wanted to upgrade my house in various ways and areas. For example, my kitchen; it has the standard cheap pressboard cabinets. Nice but cheap. I would also like to add more cabinets to the kitchen. That would give it some more character along with more cabinet space and what kitchen couldn’t use that. I’d also replace the countertop with either Corian or granite. Right now it sports the Formica top with its chips and stains. Of course, there would also have to be a replacement of the standard stainless steel double bowl sink with something more modern. The swing lever faucet also wears some pits in it and it would need to be replaced. Such would be the project that I would have to consider hiring a licensed building contractor. A friend told me about D.R. Hartman Construction company and how they did an excellent job of remodeling his home.
I continued on telling my friend of my house woes to include the fact that I would like a new deck built on the side of my house. This deck would have to be lightweight enough so that the septic drain field could withstand its weight yet large enough that I could entertain parties on it and enjoy the great outdoors. Eventually, I would like to have the house roof extend over the deck so that I could screen it in to shield from bugs, rain, pine needles and the pounding hot sun. It would have to be built in such a way that it wasn’t raised up too high off the ground. I would like it to have bench seating all the way around with flower planters on the outside. As I’m speaking my dream to my friend he just nodded his head and finally said “Yep. It’s a do-able with that fine construction company.”
Then I got to thinking about how I’d like to have the carpet replaced throughout the house, the cracked tile fixed, the walls painted, the bathrooms updated, a front porch added to the house and the driveway expanded to enable another spot for parking a vehicle. Yes, it would take a contractor that could pull all the permits and deal with the contrary county inspectors and finally but most importantly, deal with me in a civilized manor. But exactly how much would all of this renovating cost? Could I even begin to afford such updates? Again, my friend said, “Call D.R. Hartman Construction company and have them come out and give you a quote. It’s free. What’s better than that?” Nothing I guess. But would a building contractor really be interested in the little jobs like painting my house? Would he deliver on time and what would his quality of work be acceptable? The answer is yes, yes, and YES. Call them and ask for a free quote.
